Alnwick Market Place is where you'll find both the Town Hall and Northumberland Hall, now home to the Tourist Information Office. The Market Place has played a vital role throughout the history of the area and today continues to thrive as a focal point for the community, with markets each Thursday and Saturday.

On the last Friday of each month the Farmers' Market still provides an opportunity to buy local produce, which naturally finds its way onto the breakfast table at Bailiffgate Bed & Breakfast.

The Market Cross (right) is medieval and therefore believed to have been erected in the period 1066-1540. The cross-head was replaced in the 19th Century.
